Family Matters!

Well, this post will be a little bit different. Different in a personal way. I guess this is mostly coming from my heart because it is all about the FAMILY. Many of you may not know yet that I am originally from Ukraine, a beautiful country. I grew up on the coast of the Black Sea, in a resort city called Sevastopol. People from South are known for their hospitality and that is what I am used to and that is another reason why I LOVE Texas so much! It just feels like HOME! I was the only child and when I married my wonderful husband I gained a HUGE FAMILY! And I am very grateful that my life changed this way, as you start to look at things in life in a different perspective. Right after we got married we drove to Midland, TX where my husband spent almost all of his childhood. I was supposed to meet his Aunt Dorothy. Once we pulled up to her house, she was waiting for us in her front yard and she was the first one to give me this tight hug that I suddenly felt like being accepted in the family! I have never felt this way before. I thought to myself, "wow, they don't even know me yet but they already accepted me!" Well, there was a surprise wedding shower that was in store for us at Dorothy's house and I got to meet almost all of the family and friends and yes, I was overwhelmed but it felt really good. We don't have many opportunities to get together very often but when we do, there is a great reason, there is a great company and absolutely wonderful atmosphere. All these years ( and yes, I can't believe I have been married for several years now) Dorothy has ALWAYS been there for every member of the family and I think she is the sweetest, kind hearted, beautiful person I have ever met! And this time around we all got to get together for an awesome celebration of Dorothy's Birthday! She turned 75 YEARS YOUNG! There were candles, there were cakes, flowers, wishes but most of all family hugs! I believe I have been blessed with such a great family and I will always try to pass this feeling to my children! Family is the most important part of every one's life so cherish those moments and live your life to the fullest! Materialistic world will be there forever but family comes only in one unit! So spend more time together and create more memories!
